How to charge crystals

Charging your crystals is an important ritual that can help you get the most out of your crystal's energy. It is a great way to activate their energy and make them more powerful. You can charge them in any way that feels right to you, but here are some simple ways to get started:

Place them in direct sunlight for an hour or two each day, either outside or on a windowsill. Your crystal will absorb solar energy and emit positive energy back into the environment.

Use a sage smudge stick to clear your crystals of any negative energy.  Allow the smoke to drift over the crystals. 

Bury the crystals in the earth for 24 hours or so.

Place crystals in a bed of quartz. If you have a large quartz geode, place smaller crystals inside the geode for 12 to 24 hours.

Place crystals in a selenite bowl for 12 to 24 hours.

Once you've charged your crystal with light energy from either the sun or moon, or any other method, it is ready to be programmed.

Programming a crystal is essentially your instructions (intention) passed to the crystal as you hold it and focus on it.  The crystal absorbs your energy and the intention you create. It then continues to hold that energy pattern until you cleanse it and repeat the process again.

Hold the crystal it in your dominant hand while focusing on its purpose and any specific goals you have in mind  - such as healing yourself.  If your intent is prosperity, repeat the affirmation: "I am prosperous" as you focus on the crystal. If possible, put on some music that resonates with this feeling of intention.  Perhaps light a candle to create a peaceful atmosphere. 

When you feel like there has been enough time spent focusing on your intentions, place your crystal back into its bag or box until it is needed again at another time.

Crystal Maintenance

Keeping your crystals clean and charged is an important part of their health and longevity. In addition to protecting their physical condition, it also keeps them in the highest possible vibratory state they can be.

Cleanse and charge your crystals at least once a month. A good point of reference is to maintain this ritual every full moon.
